In yesterday’s post, I wrote about my new bookish obsession—Litsy.

Well this morning, I just happened to notice that my Litsy stats showed I hit 500 followers and 1500 litfluence at the same time. I, of course, immediately took a screenshot because that’s what one does when one is a geek.

What’s the deal with those numbers?

Honestly, there is absolutely no significance to either of those numbers. I really just thought it was cool. 500 is one-third of 1500, both are divisible by 5, and both end in double zero. #numbergeekiness

But what’s litfluence?

Litfluence is just a fun Litsy thing (see the Listy help page).

Your litfluence starts at 42 because, well, 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. (Yet another reason why I love Litsy. Booknerd humor.)

Basically, your litfluence increases as other Littens like your posts, stack your books, and comment on your posts.

No one takes litfluence seriously (that I’ve seen). Everyone just has fun with it.

But the numbers just gave me a perfect excuse to have a giveaway . . . which is exactly what I’m doing.

As I mentioned, Littens love giveaways. Why? Because we love books and love to share books! I love sharing books, book swaps, giving books as gifts. That’s one of the reasons I love using PaperBackSwap.com—to spread the love of books, as well as keep my shelves under at least manageable control. (I only have so much space in my apartment.)

So to celebrate my Litsy milestone, I’m having a giveaway.

How do I enter?

Well, first, you have to download Litsy because the entire reason for the giveaway is Litsy!

Next, find my Litsy account (wanderinglynn).

Then, this part is optional. You can, if you want, take a screenshot of the post—you don’t need the text part, just the part with the books. Many Littens opt to screenshot giveaways because there’s no “repost” option.

Finally, create a blurb. In the blurb, tag the book you want if your name is drawn. The book options are The Man Who Invented Christmas, Mistborn, After the Fall, or Be Frank With Me.  Most importantly, tag me. (If you don’t tag me, I may not see it.)

Deadline is April 5 and is open to ALL (U.S. & International). I’ll put all the names in a hat and have my neighbor pick one. I’ll let the winner know on April 6 via Litsy.
